Stephanie and I hosted our first ABL dinner in 2018 in my Brooklyn apartment. Since then, our community has grown to over 180 women who come together to share resources, ideas, and connections. My entire career has been devoted to helping people to fulfill their potential.

When pregnant with her first child, Stephanie Lai felt an urgent need to surround herself with strong, generous, and proud Asian women - aunties to guide her baby girl on what she could grow up to be. Asian Boss Ladies was born out of this simple desire. We are just getting started on showing the world who we are and what we can do.

Stephanie is the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants and is on a journey to know her family's story. Stephanie is the Vice President, of Financial Services at Buildertrend and is responsible for the P&L and growth of payments, lending, and insurance products for residential contractors. Before this, she held roles at American Express, the International Finance Corporation/World Bank, and Credit Suisse. She holds a BS from NYU Stern and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. Stephanie lives in Philly with her husband and two daughters and loves to dance - just put on some tunes. 

In addition to being the ABL Co-founder, Steph is also a member of ABL’s steering committee.

Lily is a nonprofit fundraiser, gender and racial justice advocate, writer, and attorney. She is currently the Chief Development Officer for Girls Inc. of New York City. Previously, she was the Director of Development for Lawyers Alliance for New York, the Director of Development & Communications for Girl Be Heard, and has also worked at the Hedge Fund Law Report, Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, South Brooklyn Legal Services, and Earthjustice.

She is a Steering Committee member of the Asian Women Giving Circle, an Aspen Institute Fellow, an inaugural member of the Omega Institute Juno Leadership Collective, and former Board Member of the Chinese American Education Association of California. She received a JD from NYU School of Law, and BAs in Philosophy and Political Science from UC Irvine. She lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn with her husband and two children and will karaoke with you anytime anyplace.
